Bone Crier's Moon - printed edges - Kathryn Purdie

The Bone Criers have a sacred mission.

As the last descendants of an ancient family of Enchanters, they are the only ones who can prevent the dead from hunting the living and stealing their Light. But their power to guide the spirits of the departed to Heaven or Hell demands a sacrifice. The gods require absolute devotion, which means the Bone Criers must pay with the life of their soulmate.

Ailesse has been trained from childhood to become the leader of the Bone Criers. But first she must complete her rite of passage and kill the boy she is destined to love.

Bastien’s father was killed by a Bone Crier, and ever since he has sought revenge. But the chance comes too late. Ailesse’s ritual has begun, and now their fates are intertwined—in life and in death.

Sabine has never had the courage to carry out the work of the Bone Criers. But when her best friend, Ailesse, is kidnapped, Sabine will do everything in her power to break the bond between Ailesse and Bastien before the two young people die.

The first novel in an exciting new fantasy series brings readers a star-crossed love story, macabre magic, and a betrayal powerful enough to shatter the boundary between the living and the dead.
